Ritual: Disappearing Act
Cost: 2 minor charges per level of isolation, 6 maximum.
Ritual Action: Completely disconnect from the world. No social contact, in person or otherwise. No one can see or hear from you, as far as everyone else is concerned you don’t exist. If your presence is felt by someone in this period the ritual automatically fails so be certain of your isolation. Keep this up for your choice of a week, a month or a year (you have to consciously choose, if you get caught by someone when trying for the longer periods you can’t count it for one of the shorter ones. The effort is wasted). Isolation checks for this undertaking start at rank 3, go to rank 6 and then cap out at 9. The logistics of how you stay hidden and alive for this period are up to you.
Having completed the last step you’ll remain primed for about a week. People describe it like a prickly, airy, cloistered feeling but that could just be them reacclimatising to being around people. When you’re ready, draw a half circle on the ground in front of you with your foot and say the fourteen word incantation in two different languages of your choice. You need to be wearing a collapsible top hat, any size.
Effect: So long as you don’t do anything violent or communicate with anyone you’re invisible. This only works on people, CCTV will still pick you up but people looking at the monitor won’t see you unless they look at the recording after the effect is over. Your invisibility lasts for either a minute, an hour or a day commensurate with the period of self-imposed isolation you went through. If you take off the top hat while the effect is active it ends, but you are blinded for the remaining duration.
