Artifact: Grotesque Visage
Power: Significant.
Description: A small mask made from a thin shell of inflexible plastic and secured by a flimsy elastic string. The kind you might find in any supermarket, empty eyeholes cut into the face of any of a dozen fictional characters.
Effect: Two effects, firstly putting one on causes it to fuse with your face. This is painless unless you're trying to yank it off but you'll really want to line the eyeholes up properly. Aside from surgery the only way it's coming off is with holy water (little known) or waiting until the night after the next full moon (the usual method).
The second effect is that you can't be identified while wearing it, beyond "the guy in the X mask, at least I think it was a guy…". You'll stick out like a sore thumb (people who see images will assume it's been subtly photo-edited to be difficult to distinguish) but no one can tell that it's you from your height, build, clothes or hair. You are only the mask. This is a rank 3 Unnatural check for someone trying to describe anything else about you to police after a bank robbery but can go as high as rank 6 for friends who saw you put it on and now realise that memory is the only way they now know it's you.
Grotesque visages only work once.
